What we cover
Cardiac perfusion, and the cases most groups can’t staff.
Adult and pediatric bypass and ECMO are the core of the practice. NRP and OrganOX support extend that same skill set to organ recovery teams — a capability far fewer perfusion groups can offer.
Cardiac
Adult Cardiopulmonary Bypass
Full CPB support for CABG, valve, and aortic procedures — circuit setup, conduct of bypass, myocardial protection, and blood management, run to your surgeons’ established protocols.
Cardiac
Pediatric & Congenital Perfusion
Perfusion for pediatric and congenital cardiac cases, including small-volume circuits and the tighter physiologic margins those patients require.
Critical care
ECMO & ECLS Support
Support for veno-venous and veno-arterial ECMO — circuit assembly and priming, cannulation support, ongoing circuit management, and troubleshooting.
Organ recovery
Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP)
NRP support for DCD organ recovery, coordinated with your procurement team and transplant surgeons.
Organ recovery
OrganOX Machine Perfusion
Normothermic machine perfusion support for donor liver preservation on the OrganOX platform.
Blood management
Autotransfusion Support
Cell salvage coverage where your program needs it alongside scheduled perfusion cases.
Case types are matched to a perfusionist credentialed and experienced in that specific area. If we are not the right fit for a case, we will tell you before you schedule it.
How coverage works
From one vacation day to your whole perfusion service.
Programs come to us at very different points. These are the arrangements we work under — pick the one that matches your problem.
Scheduled case coverage
Named coverage for your elective cardiac schedule — a set number of days or cases per week, planned in advance.
Call & after-hours
Nights, weekends, and holiday call so your in-house perfusionists aren’t carrying the whole rotation.
Full program coverage
End-to-end clinical perfusion coverage for programs that would rather contract the service than staff and manage it internally.
Gap & locums coverage
Short-notice fill-in for vacation, medical leave, parental leave, or an open position you are still recruiting for.
Permanent placement
Sourcing and vetting an experienced CCP to hire onto your own payroll, when a permanent seat is what you actually need.
Licensure & credentialing
Nationwide coverage, stated precisely.
Fewer than half of U.S. states require a perfusion-specific license. Our founder holds active licensure in four states that do. Everywhere else, we place perfusionists from our professional network who hold the license that state requires — or, where no state license exists, who practice under ABCP certification and your facility’s own credentialing standards.

Why Vital Flow
Experienced. Reliable. Essential.
Your point of contact is Brandon Carroll, CCP — a practicing perfusionist with seven years at the table, not an account manager relaying messages to a clinical team you never meet.
Run by a working perfusionist
We tell you exactly who is licensed in which state and what your credentialing office will need. No vague assurances about coverage we can’t document.
Straight answers on licensure
Cardiac, pediatric, ECMO, and organ recovery run through the same contact, so you aren’t coordinating three vendors around one OR schedule.
